Actor Bill Cosby is in trouble – more than 25 women have come forward to allege that Cosby has raped or assaulted them over the past four decades.
Even some of his past supporters are stepping back, including Whoopi Goldberg.
“If this is to be tried in the court of public opinion, I got to say all of the information that’s out there kind of points to guilt,” said Goldberg, noting that she can’t stand behind him because he hasn’t come up with a believable defense.
In 2005, Cosby admitted is that he did get Quaaludes to give to women before sex, but a large portion of the court records that may contain more clues about whether he’s guilty of as many assaults as victims allege have been sealed.
Cosby has never come clean about whether the women knew about the drugs or he slipped them to unsuspecting victims. His lawyer at the time objected to questioning that would have led to an answer to that question.
Did Cosby Commit Crimes Over the Past 40 Years?
Raven-Symone, who was on Cosby’s wildly popular sitcom “The Cosby Show” in the 1980s, won’t comment on whether she feels he’s innocent or guilty.
“You need the proof and then I’ll be able to give my judgment here or there,” the former child star said.
According to Cosby, at least so far, is that all sexual contact he’s participated in has been consensual.
Now his attorneys are arguing that if the full contents of Cosby’s 2005 testimony are released, the material in them would prejudice the jury pool in Massachusetts, where the team is trying to have a defamation lawsuit dismissed against him.
“It would be terribly embarrassing for this material to come out,” said George M. Gowen III, Cosby’s attorney.
What Do You Think?
Should Bill Cosby’s full testimony be released? Cosby, who’s now 77 years old, is fighting against it – so do you think that’s because he’s guilty or because he’s guarding his privacy?
